I have been directly involved in the building, creation or seed investing of 3 Tech Unicorns (over 1 billion $ in valuation or exit). One before the first internet bubble burst in 2000 as part of the fouding team at lastminute.com, the other first as the co-founder and CEO of eRepublik Labs in 2007 and then as the group COO and now Group President and CEO of Stillfront group (that acquired eRepublik Labs in 2017 when both companies had a combined market cap of just 112 million US$ and is quoted on the Swedish Nasdaq). I am also a seed angel investor in several successful startups, including The Sandbox that became a Unicorn shortly after an investment from Softbank. I combine my work at Stillfront with active Angel investing and working closely with several VC’s as an LP and/or advisor & co-investor. I was a Venture Partner at Atomico from 2016 to 2020 and at Eurazeo Ventures from 2021 to 2024.
I hold a BA Honours Degree in International Business & Languages from the European Business School (London). I was a sailing national champion (Portugal) twice although I now prefer to play chess or videogames with one of my 3 kids and am fluent in 5 languages. In 2012 the World Economic Forum (Davos) nominated me as a Young Global Leader (YGL). In 2014 I completed a Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st century program at Harvard University and in 2017, I completed a Transformational Leadership program at the University of Oxford Said Business School.
